Web Development Series - From Zero to Hero with HTML & CSS
We organized a comprehensive web development training series at ESI SBA, tailored for students eager to master HTML and CSS from the ground up. This was an ambitious project spanning six consecutive weeks!
Series Structure
Over the course of six weekly sessions, held every Tuesday, we took participants on a journey from zero to hero, diving deep into the fundamentals of web development.
Week 1-2: HTML Fundamentals
- Basic HTML structure and syntax
- Semantic HTML elements
- Forms and input elements
- Best practices for accessible HTML
Week 3-4: CSS Deep Dive
- CSS selectors and specificity
- Box model and positioning
- Colors, typography, and visual design
- Responsive design principles
Week 5-6: Modern Layout Techniques
- Flexbox: Creating flexible, one-dimensional layouts
- Grid: Building complex, two-dimensional layouts
- Combining both for powerful layout systems
Hands-On Learning
Each session was designed to be interactive and hands-on, allowing students to apply their learning through:
- Engaging Tasks: Weekly coding challenges to reinforce concepts
- Dynamic Landing Pages: Building real-world projects from scratch
- Code Reviews: Peer feedback and best practices discussions
- Live Coding: Demonstrating problem-solving in real-time
Results
The series was a resounding success! Students progressed from having no web development knowledge to creating impressive, responsive landing pages. The enthusiasm and commitment shown by participants throughout the six weeks was truly inspiring.
The projects created by the end of the series showcased not just technical skills, but creativity and understanding of modern web design principles.
